Sleep We Make, 2023

The MACHEN daybed, designed for the Sleep We Make initiative, showcases Daniel Heers´ ever renewable and luxurious horsehair mattresses. The platform rests on recessed sword-shaped boards to support the horsehair mattress in an almost floating position. The edges are rounded to take up the shape of the horsehair mattress. Instead of a slatted frame, individual custom-made spring slats are used that are, if needed, individually replaceable.

Available in oak, walnut, ash and blackened ash.
Crafted in Portugal out of FSC-certified massive wood.

The daybed is currently presented at Graanmarkt 13 / Antwerp, at Andreas Murkudis / Berlin and at The Pariser Zimmer / Paris.
